Waiting

June 21, 2010

So, my digital camera broke recently (it was a shitty Kodak EasyShare C533, but it worked). It suddenly developed a pink streak down the middle of shots – I, being the naive and moderately-handy-with-electronics person that I am, took it apart. Unfortunately, the circuit that connects to the flash battery is completely exposed when you take off the outer casing – after nearly electrocuting myself thrice (I got a blister from the first shock), I decided that taking the lens out was too risky. So, I salvaged the screen (pretty nice one too, actually) and threw the camera away. I’ve spent the last few days deciding on a new camera, and it came down to more or less 2 cameras – Nikon’s Coolpix P100 or Fujifilm’s FinePix HS10. After 2 hours of reading reviews, studying specs and sample images, I’ve decided on the HS10. Now I just have to wait ’til my birthday…

I also have to wait 24 hours ’til I can post a link to yesterday’s playlist, because the song “Waiting” by Norah Jones had not yet been uploaded. Serendipitous, huh?

Note the songs from Drake’s, Reflection Eternal’s, and Eminem’s new albums on today’s playlist.

Here’s today’s playlist

  1. Karaoke by Drake
  2. Ambitionz Az a Ridah by 2Pac
  3. You Never Know by Immortal Technique (feat. Jean Grae)
  4. Love the Way You Lie by Eminem (Feat. Rihanna)

  6. These Are Our Heroes by Nas
  7. The Saga Begins by Rakim
  8. Make It Hot by LL Cool J
  9. Mortal Though by KRS-One
  10. Dogs of War by Ghostface Killah (Feat. Raekwon, Trife, Cappadonna, and Sun God)

Hello, Oblivion

June 13, 2010

And I mean oblivion as in blissful oblivion. And by that I mean SUMMER. HELL YES. Only two finals to go…

I managed to download about 40 albums yesterday, mostly classic rock and 80s metal, which I found my iTunes sadly deficient in. I also got a really interesting album of classical (which I’m usually not a fan of) by Olafur Arnalds. A few songs have some rock elements, and it’s all just very surreal. Check it out!

I’ve got a softer Hip-Hop playlist for today, which starts off slow soft and ends upbeat soft. Enjoy!

Here’s today’s playlist

  1. Between the Lines by Atmosphere
  2. Stand Up by The Flobots
  3. Cigarettes by Fort Minor
  4. Hello/Goodbye (Uncool) by Lupe Fiasco (feat. UNKLE)
  5. 25 to Life by Eminem
  6. One (Remix) by Immortal Technique (Feat. Akir)
  7. Welcome by J. Cole
  8. Strong Will Continue by Nas and Damian Marley
  9. Izzo (H.O.V.A) by Jay-Z
  10. Hey Ya! by Outkast

Recovery

June 8, 2010

I’m sure most of you have heard the big news by now – if you haven’t, let me fill you in. Eminem’s new album, Recovery, leaked last night. I have a friend claiming this is his best album. I disagree – I would say it’s Eminem Show. Any opinions?

On another, non-music related note, I’m reading an interesting article on Kotaku, about video-gaming principles. It’s actually really interesting stuff – it makes me want to get started on a game. Again. And maybe even finish this time.

And, finally, today’s Playlist. Note the track from Eminem’s new album.

  1. Top of the World by Ace Hood
  2. Lights Please by J. Cole
  3. So Fresh, So Clean by Outkast
  4. Young, Gifted, and Black by Big Daddy Kane
  5. The Things That Hate Us by Atmosphere
  6. Something for Nothing by Heiruspecs
  7. North by Northwest by Blue Scholars
  8. Bring Back Pluto by Aesop Rock
  9. Till Death Comes by Cypress Hill
  10. Cold Wind Blows by Eminem

We’re up and Running!

June 4, 2010

So, now that I’ve recovered and all, I’ve got a playlist for you guys! This is a Hip Hop playlist, so if that’s not your thing, come back tomorrow for a Saturday playlist!  I’ve decided to use MixPod for my playlists…I considered Box.net, but it won’t play .m4as, which most of my music is, and youtube, but WordPress won’t embed custom players. I’ll still have a track list for you to peruse, as well as occasional album or video game reviews, and the rare wallpaper. I should have last week’s playlist up in a little. Oh and also, feel free to suggest songs, themes, albums, games – basically whatever your heart desires.

Here’s today’s playlist –

1.Your Glasshouse by Atmosphere

2.The Preacher by Brother Ali

3.Shoot Down the Stars by Gym Class Heroes

4.Someday by Flipsyde

5.Dispear by Nas and Damian Marley

6.None Shall Pass by Aesop Rock

7.Like Toy Soldiers by Eminem

8.Kunta Kinte by Akir

9.Not Afraid by Eminem

10.Industrial Revolution by Immortal Technique
